Costa Rica is a small Central American Nation of 3.5 Million people. This neutral and proudly democratic country boasts a literacy rate of 93% and is the only nation in the world with no standing army. Volcanic in origin, Costa Rica is comprised of seven provinces, including eight varying climactic zones from Alpine mountains and a temperate Central valley to an ideal year-round tropical climate at the coast.
Our properties are located in Guanacaste province, a region which includes most of the Pacific Northwest coast. Deservedly referred to as the “Gold Coast,” Guanacaste is a spectacular region, containing more wildlife refuges and national parks than any other Costa Rican province. These protected areas include semi-active volcanoes, geothermal hot springs, rivers, lakes, endangered tropical forests, estuaries, wetlands, Pacific Islands, and sea-turtle nesting beaches. The beaches are sublime, with clean 82 degree waters. Regional outdoor activities include world-class sport fishing and surfing, swimming, sunning, snorkeling, scuba diving, sea kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, biking, bird watching, hiking and horseback riding.
